Kailoma comes from the Fijian phrase meaning “from the inside” which refers to being part Fijian. Kailoma Sol alludes more to being a part of the beautiful, natural world around us: our connection to Sun, Sea, & Sol. There is a natural attraction to beauty: a colorful stone, a piece of worn sea glass or a shiny shell at the beach. We seek to connect to that joy of finding the perfect shell or unexpected treasure and making it into something wonderful to wear, layer, and love.
Kailoma Sol uses a variety of pearls and semi-precious stones, from land and sea to make beautiful, everyday, wearable jewelry. Delicate looking creations using baroque pearls, rice pearls, Tahitian black pearls with colorful gemstones belie the strength of these unique pieces, many of which can be wrapped to wear as bracelets, doubled or single layered necklaces. These are not your grandmother’s pearls, but they are made using strong silk thread which has been used for centuries of pearl beading.
